YA? Y Not?! A Creative Way to Share Literature Socially is designed to bring Central Illinois educators together through Young Adult Literature. It is not meant to be a lecture but an informal gathering and sharing time. Each meeting will have focus either through a selected genre or topic and will be led by a moderator.

Schedule: The first Saturday of each month at the Barnes and Noble Booksellers in Bloomington, IL from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM.

Books or other media that fit the theme

Objectives:
To promote enthusiasm for interest in Young Adult Literature
To promote book talking as an art to promote and generate interest in reading
To select appropriate novels 6th - 12th grades and their varying ability levels
To learn a variety of ways to integrate young adult literature into the 6th - 12th grade curriculum
To learn noteworthy authors and become familiar with their works
To create a community of readers among teachers and librarians

Requirements:
Read one book per month (each month will focus on a different genre or topic)
Participate in informal discussions of books read
Present ways you would use the book with your students
Socialize, shop, and have fun!
